There have been so many films called PRIMAL in the works in recent years that it’s hard to keep them all straight. Helping clear things up is the announcement that the one harking from Australia has a U.S. distribution deal.

Screen Daily reports that IFC Films has acquired Stateside rights to the movie, adding to its impressive genre slate (see item here). PRIMAL, for which you can see the trailer below and some filmmaker comments and juicy stills here, was written and directed by Josh Reed and follows a group of young friends on a trip to a remote region of the Outback, where one becomes infected after skinnydipping in a waterhole and reverts to a savage state—with her condition soon spreading to the others. Look for more Fango coverage of PRIMAL as it gets closer to release.
