The star of PACIFIC RIM looks likely to reteam with its director on the upcoming haunted-house feature.

Variety reports that the kaiju epic’s Charlie Hunnam is in talks to star in CRIMSON PEAK, which Guillermo del Toro will direct for Legendary Films. Story details on the movie are currently being kept secret, with del Toro and Lucinda Coxon rewriting the original script by del Toro and regular writing partner Matthew Robbins. Emma Stone is also in negotiations to take a lead in CRIMSON PEAK, which is set to roll in February 2014, with Universal Pictures (releasing the del Toro-produced MAMA today) retaining an option to come aboard as a financier. Hunnam just wrapped the fifth season of the FX TV series SONS OF ANARCHY, on which he co-stars with del Toro favorite Ron Perlman; PACIFIC RIM opens July 12 from Warner Bros.
