Fango's January cover story and the latest "Guillermo del Toro Presents" is based off an eerie little short that's creeped plenty of festivalgoers something fierce. Now, the short makes its official online debut (in much better quality than before) with a brief introduction from del Toro!

Even without the PAN'S LABYRINTH director's preamble, you can certainly see why MAMA would get audiences interested in Andy Muschietti. The short is sufficiently creepy and graceful in construction and reveal. It's steady, tracking camerawork is integral to the two minutes or so of tension it unleashes. 

MAMA, the feature expands the story of "two little girls who disappeared into the woods the day that their parents were killed. When they are rescued years later and begin a new life, they find that someone or something still wants to come tuck them in at night."

MAMA, starring Jessica Chastain and GAME OF THRONES' Nicolaj Coster-Waldau, is out January 18th.
