A Georgia ghost in Connecticut's court?
Coming this February is a long-planned sequel/companion to THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT, originally titled THE HAUNTING IN GEORGIA. Unfortunately, that doesn’t draw clear enough lines to a nation of filmgoers who already seem to think everything is connected. Thus, THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT: GHOSTS OF GEORGIA, which in turns sounds like a kinship with last week’s Saturday Night Live sketch about America’s most southern northeast slice of paradise, Bangor, Maine.
This film, based on a true story adapted into an episode of Discovery Channel’s A HAUNTING series, stars ONE TREE HILL’s Chad Michael Murray and MAD MEN’s Abigail Spencer as the Wyricks, a married couple relocating to Georgia (not Connecticut) with their daughter Heidi. Upon arrival, they quickly discover they are not the house’s only inhabitants. With talk of the Underground Railroad and a general Civil War-era aesthetic, it looks like the Wyricks will come face to face with the spirits of the American South. Although, none of them are holding mint juleps, so this still could be Connecticut.
THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT: GHOSTS OF GEORGIA hits VOD and limited theatrical February 1, 2013.
