One of the most-awarded movie makeup artists in history will receive yet another, major honor later this month.

The folks behind the Hollywood Walk of Fame have announced that Rick Baker will receive a star on Hollywood Boulevard, in a ceremony to take place Friday, November 30 at 11:30 a.m. PST. The event will occur in front of the Guinness World Records Museum (6764 Hollywood Blvd.); Baker will also be entered in the Guinness World Records Book for both most Oscar wins and most Academy Award nominations for Best Achievement in Makeup. He’s been up for 12 statuettes and taken home seven, for AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS, ED WOOD, THE NUTTY PROFESSOR, MEN IN BLACK, HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS and THE WOLFMAN. Most recently, he returned to create another impressive alien menagerie for MEN IN BLACK 3 (see interview here).

“We are proud to honor those who have successfully helped make Hollywood what it is today with their talent and magical creations that fans have enjoyed since the beginning of the motion picture industry. Rick Baker is a revered artist who we are proud to say started his extraordinary career in California, home of the movies,” says Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. Baker’s honor will be streamed live at www.walkoffame.com.
