In the week and a half since New York Comic Con, there's been a ton written (from first impressions, to interviews with the filmmakers) about what we can expect from EVIL DEAD 2013. Now, the official trailer, in non-bootlegged format has made its way online.

The trailer still rouses. Fede Alvarez looks to have taken EVIL DEAD and the challenge of remaking it head-on. What we see is strange, gross and—appropriate to the EVIL DEAD legacy—really, really energetic. There's the boil-ridden arm before it's amputated, the split tongue, the way the mud spreads as the tree wraps itself around star Jane Levy and finally how Alvarez has gone after the iconic torpedo-through-the-woods shots. 

EVIL DEAD is out April 12, 2013. As you might expect, it's about "five twenty-something friends holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.."
