Last year, ORPHAN director Jaume Collet-Serra headed up Ombra Films, a production outfit looking to bring low budget genre from Spanish newcomers to fruition. Their first project, the head-entering MINDSCAPE, has cast up.
Deadline is reporting character pros Mark Strong and Brian Cox will co-star alongside AMERICAN HORROR STORY actress Taissa Farmiga in Jorge Dordado's feature debut MINDSCAPE. The film sees a man enter the mind of a disturbed teenager in an effort to discover the nature of her actions, i.e. if she's a sociopath or victim of trauma.
Serra previously pulled off the fun HOUSE OF WAX remake and the splendid ORPHAN. With an eye for weirder ticks in his own films, hopefully the projects he's shepherding go some strange places as well. Of course, the world's been fascinated by the minds of killers for a long time now, with characters of literature and film going in and out of each other's heads psychologically, scientifically, supernaturally and quite literally, even. All certainly afford some odd possibilities.
