FANGORIA contributor and programmer of Toronto film series
Fright Nights, Kelly Michael Stewart has just announced his own homegrown
horror film fest dedicated exclusively to Northern frights.
From the press release:
We are proud to announce the first annual “Fright Nights: The Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival,” a weekend long festival celebrating the best in contemporary Canadian horror filmmaking.
The Festival will feature 15 filmmakers from all over Canada, highlighted in six programs from November 30th to December 1st, 2012 at the Projection Booth East in Toronto, Ontario.
Says Kelly: “We’ve put a pretty impressive lineup for our first year. We’ll be showcasing six premieres; two of which are world premieres. So I think we are going to give Canadian horror fans something really cool that was made right in their backyard.”
The Festival will offer a wide selection of horror films including zombie infections (SICK), psychological thrillers (IN THE HOUSE OF FLIES), dark sci-fi (BEYOND THE BLACK RAINBOW), grindhouse (FAMINE), and classic '80s style slasher films (DEVIL'S NIGHT). The lineup features such heavyweights as Danielle Harris, Debbie Rochon and Henry Rollins.
Early bird festival passes are now on sale for $40, which gets you into all six screenings ($60 value). Individual tickets for $10 will be on sale November 1st.
