With her vampire rom-com MY SUCKY TEEN ROMANCE recently released, young filmmaker Emily Hagins (pictured) is forging ahead with a new Halloween-set movie that has added a couple of genre regulars to its cast. Read on for details and the first poster.

RE-ANIMATOR star Barbara Crampton and nonstop-busy actor AJ Bowen will co-star in Hagins’ GROW UP, TONY PHILLIPS, a comedy about a Halloween-loving teenager who won’t let go of his childhood passions. It’s the second new feature after the upcoming YOU’RE NEXT to team Crampton, who’s also part of Rob Zombie’s THE LORDS OF SALEM ensemble, and Bowen, who’s all over the indie horror scene these days. Also starring are ROMANCE’s Tony Vespe and Devin Bonnée, and Jamie Landau, son of producer Jon Landau, in his film debut.

GROW UP, TONY PHILLIPS, which is 19-year-old Hagins’ fourth feature after PATHOGEN, THE RETELLING and ROMANCE, is being produced by Paul Gandersman and Peter Hall of Austin, TX’s Arcanum Pictures; it’s set to roll late this year on Central Texas locations. A portion of the budget is being raised via the Kickstarter crowd-funding site, where a limited-edition poster by Jay Shaw of Mondo Posters fame will be exclusively available, see more details here.
