Los Angeles' acclaimed Cinefamily just won October.
It's the most wonderful time of the year. Welcome to Halloween season, a month or so of Autumnal activities including haunted houses, apple picking, flannel and perhaps most excitingly, repertory cinema. Throughout October, theaters nationwide will ring in the month with various revival screenings of horror—classic and contemporary—and if you live in L.A.: Holy shit, have you lucked out.
Cinefamily is launching Nightmare City, a massive Video Nasties series that sees a midnight every night of the month featuring one of the 72 banned or censored titles that caused gory uproar in the U.K. It's the 30th anniversary of this collection of bloody misfits and you can catch classics like Dario Argento's INFERNO, THE EVIL DEAD, CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, THE BURNING, THE BEYOND and Andrzej Zulawski's out-of-its-mind POSSESSION, as well as trashy gems like FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE, XTRO, NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN, VISITING HOURS and many more.
The series gets underway tonight! For the full lineup, as well as date and ticket info, head to the Cinefamily's Nightmare City: A Video Nasties Celebration HQ, and check out the series' trailer below.
