The seeds of Sparky's resurrection are planted in the latest clip from FRANKENWEENIE.
In May, I caught about 30 minutes of FRANKENWEENIE and immediately wanted more of Mr. Rzykruski (Martin Landau). Imposing, hilarious and positively Eastern European, there's a good chance he'll be one of the film's shining aspects.
FRANKENWEENIE is Tim Burton's return to stop-motion, updating his 1984 short about a young boy who brings his fallen pup back to life, à la FRANKENSTEIN. The expansion has dire consequences in the upcoming feature, which looks to be a sweet and reverent bit of fun and monster love.
FRANKENWEENIE is out October 5. It's world premiere comes next week as part of Fantastic Fest, down in Austin, TX.
