There are a few variations on Mary Shelley’s classic
creation lurching toward the screen, and now the FRANKENSTEIN being developed
by 20th Century Fox has a new filmmaker attached.
Variety reports that Fox and Davis Entertainment are in final negotiations with Paul McGuigan (pictured) to take the helm of FRANKENSTEIN, scripted by CHRONICLE’s Max Landis and reportedly told from the point of view of the mad scientist’s assistant Ygor. The British filmmaker’s credits include the thrillers PUSH, LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN, WICKER PARK, THE RECKONING and GANGSTER NO. 1—which certainly make him more qualified for the gig than previously attached Shawn Levy, of the PINK PANTHER remake and NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM flicks.
