Academy award-winning director Barry Levinson makes the jump to creature features with what looks like flying colors.

Produced by Jason Blum (PARANORMAL ACITIVTY, INSIDIOUS, SINISTER), THE BAY sees Levinson (DINER, RAIN MAN, SLEEPERS) throw his hat into the genre ring with a tale "compiled" from government-confiscated footage that chronicles the destruction of Chespeake Bay as its besieged by a parasite in the water.  

There's some neat, shuddery, holy shit moments in the trailer, and it does a nice job of laying out the scope and spread (from toxic water, to mini parasites, to host bodies) of the chaos. We'll see if THE BAY delivers in full on November 2.
