Indie horror fans and filmmakers rejoice! The gorehounds at the Drunken Zombie podcast have returned with the Drunken Zombie Film Fest 2012. The festival, now celebrating their fifth year, continues its tradition of giving a spot for indie filmmakers to showcase their works of the macabre.
The concept behind the festival came to fruition based on the amount of screeners the podcast received. Besides being a platform for the movies to find an audience of wanting horror buffs, the festival also helps as they contact a few independent distributors to look over the films.
The group is proud that many filmmakers have benefited, as many of their past screened pictures have gone onto greater success; DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK and THE TAINT, just two of the many titles. The event takes place November 2-3 in Peoria, IL. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit their genre works, as there is no entry fee before August 31st.
