HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN won the 2007 South by Southwest Film Fest’s best fake exploitation trailer contest, and director Jason Eisener (TREVENGE co-helmer) is now piloting the feature-length version starring THE HITCHER’s Rutger Hauer as the titular vengeful vagrant. Here’s a look at the first production still.
Twitch got the exclusive, which you can check out below. HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN tells the story of a vigilante homeless man who is sick of a city where crime and corruption run rampant. His solution: settling matters with a 20-gauge shotgun. Move over Charles Bronson—Rutger Hauer has a chip on his shoulder!
“We’re being very naughty and very dirty and very ugly,” Hauer said during a break in filming. “We’re not trying to make anything pretty. We’re not trying to charm anybody. We’re saying this is an ugly movie.”
