Jason Blum (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, INSIDIOUS) and his Blumhouse Productions continue their television expansion.
The Hollywood Reporter writes MTV is working alongside Blumhouse to develop THE EXPERIMENT, an hour-long found footage series from Brian Horiuchi and Miguel Sapochnik (the 2010 Jude Law-starring REPO MEN, FRINGE).
Seems to be no story details as of yet, but it's interesting that Blumhouse is giving another shot at found footage TV after the pretty abysmal THE RIVER. Certainly, plenty of that series' shortcomings had nothing to do with its aesthetic, but one of its fundamental flaws seems to be the effectiveness of found footage/verite is hampered when you're not in its vaccum (i.e. sitting in a theater, with no breaks from that reality for 90, or so minutes). Each return from commercial break felt like you had to settle back into that world.
