ThanatoFilms and Black Flag Pictures let Fango know today
that UK artist Rohan Kriwaczek will be composing the abstract, eerie music for
filmmaker Eric Falardeau’s independently produced dark tale of sex and gore, THANATOMORPHOSE.
Long regarded as England’s foremost authority on the history and practice of Funerary Violin, Rohan Kriwaczek graduated first from the University of Sussex in 1972, and then from the Royal Academy of Music in 1974 with an advanced diploma in violin performance. Over the last 30 years, he’s dedicated his academic life entirely to the fervent study and recreation of the lost history of Funerary Violin, presenting lectures and workshops all around Europe, and writing a number of books on the subject, recognized today as the standard works for all students of the instrument.
Says Falardeau : "I stumbled over the Guild‘s music a few weeks before we started principal photography a year ago. Funerary Violin music is hauntingly evocative, powerful, melancholic and solemn. Heavily connected to Romantic music, it offers wonderfully high and plaintiff chords. It fits perfectly within the rhythm, aesthetic and topic of the film. The Guild and Rohan’s performance is simply mesmerizing, full of sound and fury".
THANATAMORPHOSE , about a girl who is slowly rotting away will be released in festivals during fall 2012. For more, head to its official site. You can see the latest teaser below…
