As principal photography gets underway, more cast is added to the John Pogue-directed poltergeist tale.
Now that THE WOMAN IN BLACK proved a nice-sized hit for the new rejuvenated Hammer Films, John Pogue (QUARANTINE 2) has commenced shooting a new ghost story for the company. Starring MAD MEN's fantastic Jared Harris and Sam Claflin, THE QUIET ONES sees "an unorthodox, but charismatic Professor (Harris) who uses controversial methods and leads his best students off the grid to take part in a dangerous experiment: to create a poltergeist from negative human energy." Erin Richards, Olivia Cooke and Rory Fleck-Byrne were all recently added to the cast as well.
The story, based on actual events, has a similar angle as this summer's THE APPARITION and the 70s real-life "Philip" experiment. Fun to see a new run of genre films, as well as this past weekend's PROMETHEUS, mixing up in the science of the supernatural.
