Earlier this year, FANGORIA won “magazine of the year” from UK horror website THIS IS HORROR. It was an honor, especially coming from such a fine outlet, one that seems to be expanding at an alarming rate. TIH’s latest appendage is a literary one, with the first in a series of “chapbooks”; the first penned by British genre scribe David Moody (the AUTUMN series, HATER).

Ambiguously titled JOE & ME, it’s a fine, frightening tale  that trades heavily in apocalyptic dread but, like any serious work of horror, has a sharper focus. In this case, the terrors of being a child trapped in a hostile, unforgiving world. JOE & ME leads the initiative with a limited edition 500 print run, but the intention is for This Is Horror to fan out another mini-lit masterwork every four months. Upcoming tales will be penned by authors like Gary McMahon, Simon Bestick, Conrad Williams, Joseph D’Lacey and of course, more from Moody.

JOE & ME will be available June 18th. For more information on the This Is Horror chapbooks series visit their handsome site. For more on David Moody, head right here.
