The SHAUN OF THE DEAD director calls the upcoming final installment of his, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's "Blood & Ice Cream trilogy" all at once, "darker, more personal and more silly".
Speaking to Empire, who's teasing their own larger piece on the film, Wright said the film—about five childhood friends attempting a redo on an epic pub crawl—is "a sci-fi comedy. Social science-fiction. Look it up on Wikipedia and then bone up on John Christopher and John Wyndham."
Wyndham, of course, wrote the very socially-minded sci-fi novels DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS and THE CHRYSALIDS, while John Christopher penned post-apocalyptic works like THE DEATH OF GRASS and THE TRIPODS trilogy. Could Wright have something involving the moral future of civilization and possible alien invasion up his sleeve?
