Three students explore the possibility that "it's all in your head," is a very real threat.
Todd Lincoln's delayed THE APPARITION is hitting this August and we finally have a look at its first trailer, in which "young couple Kelly (TWILIGHT's Greene) and Ben (Sebastian Stan) discover they are being haunted by a presence that was accidentally conjured during a university parapsychology experiment. The horrifying apparition feeds on their fear and torments them no matter where they try to run. Their last hope is an expert in the supernatural (HARRY POTTER's Felton), but even with his help they may already be too late to save themselves from this terrifying force..."
There certainly seems to be some stirring images in the film, whose basis looks similar to real life 1970s Canadian "Philip Experiment," where a group of parapsychologists theorized the human mind, through extreme concentration, could essentially create a ghost.
THE APPARITION is out August 24. Apple premiered.
