Monster maker and FX legend Phil Tippett is seeking your help in finishing his gonzo, experimental, stop-motion passion project MAD GOD.

Having laid dormant for 20 years, Tippett was inspired to return to the universe of MAD GOD—"an experimental, hand-made, animated film, set in a Miltonesque world of monsters, mad scientists, and war pigs—and has since been toiling diligently alongside volunteers, directing and mentoring his artists on the imaginative, and ideas and influences-driven old school FX show.

Tippett (STAR WARS, JURASSIC PARK, DRAGONSLAYER) and his work have been featured, discussed, written about and praised in FANGORIA countless times, and his longevity and artistry in the industry and genre are something we honor in no small way. He has set up a Kickstarter to help fund the supplies (materials for making molds, armatures, rear and front-screen projections, lab services, hard drive storage, studio rental space, etc.) necessary to bring MAD GOD to life, and we can't think of a more worthy cause.

Tippett is looking to craft a bit of pure cinema here. Non-commercial pure cinema that includes mysterious rooms, fantastic creatures, monsters, hand-made puppets and mind-bending mutilation. You can help out right here.

Thanks to Badass Digest for the heads up.
