Young Isabelle Fuhrman (THE HUNGER GAMES), who blew us away as a pint-sized bit of evil in 2009's ORPHAN, will meet the Mother of Sighs.
Variety reports that Fuhrman has been cast as the new Suzie in David Gordon Green's remake of Dario Argento's Italian horror classic. While Suzie will be traveling to a prestigious European school (only to discover a house of witchcraft), Green has spoken about his plans to skew younger and do away with the ballet aspect, making good on this vision by bringing the talented 15 year-old on board.
Best known for his work on the likes of (the wonderful) PINEAPPLE EXPRESS, Green has certainly proved himself a serious talent with the films GEORGE WASHINGTON, UNDERTOW and SNOW ANGELS. And while remaking SUSPIRIA seems yet another tread on holy ground, his long gestating passion for the project, coupled with his varied, open-minded sensibilities and now Fuhrman—well, it could ease some tension.
