Variety reports that the iconic Dr. Dre will be delving into film production with THAW, a horror film about an ancient evil that spawns from within melting ice in the Yukon.
Dre has brought on writer Vik Weet to pen under his own Crucial Films banner. No word on who will direct.
Weet's most recent screenplay, about the Dyatlov Pass incident—in which nine skiiers died under highly mysterious conditions in the Ural Mountains of Russia—is currently lensing under the direction of Renny Harlin (CLIFFHANGER, NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST 4: THE DREAM MASTER).
