Previously rumored for a week earlier, Joseph Kahn's kinetic, outlandish and ultra-meta meditation on high school, kids today and a slasher come-to-life, DETENTION has an official date!

DETENTION is something else. An intensely fun, clever and furiously paced horror/comedy about the perils of high school and the seemingly endless barrage of life-or-death situations, it's officially described as such: "17 year old Riley Jones (Shanley Caswell) must go to detention where she must survive a slasher film killer sand save the world in time for prom. She doesn't have a date anyway."

The film is hitting April 13, in limited release and is so far confirmed for Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Halifax.
