How do you solve the murder of the woman you loved? By
traveling to the realm of the dead yourself to uncover the culprit. That’s the
premise of the independent thriller MEMORY LANE, for which we have an exclusive
clip to share with you.
MEMORY LANE is an ambitious feature that looks remarkably slick given its impossibly low budget of $300. Directed, produced, written (with H.K. Sathappan), lensed and edited by Shawn Holmes, the movie stars Michael Guy Allen as Nick Boxer, a young war veteran (Allen himself served as a combat cameraman accompanying U.S. Special Forces troops) who returns home and falls in love with a girl named Kayla (Meg Barrick). After she dies in an apparent suicide, he tries to kill himself—and discovers, while briefly dead, that Kayla was actually murdered. When Nick’s friends revive him, he decides to build a machine that can stop and restart his heart, in an attempt to solve Kayla’s murder from the netherworld. Left Films is handling MEMORY LANE for UK release, and it’s currently seeking U.S. distribution, but you can “Demand it” in your city via the official website. Check out the trailer below the clip, and find out more at the movie’s Facebook page.
