We previously reported a while back about GUT, the latest feature from LOVECRACKED!’s Elias. Now, with the movie completed, the one-named filmmaker has passed on an exclusive clip and new pic, plus info on how to see GUT and word about his next project.

GUT (see clip at the bottom of the page) stars Jason Vail as a guy whose life is going nowhere, and whose friend Dan (Nicholas Wilder) makes his life more exciting—and frightening—via the contents of a mysterious DVD. “GUT is currently being submitted to film festivals,” Elias tells us. “Also, if folks want to see it in their town, city or at their college, they can let us know by going to the film’s official site and clicking the ‘Demand it!’ button.”

In the meantime, a few folks with notable recent genre credits are involved with his next movie, as he reveals to us: “A script I wrote called DARK is moving into preproduction, with a probable start date of June 2012. My friend Nick Basile [AMERICAN CARNY: TRUE TALES FROM THE CIRCUS SIDESHOW] will be directing this one, and FUNNY GAMES’ Linda Moran and STAKE LAND’s Jim Mickle are on board as executive producers. Right now we have MONSTERS star Whitney Able attached, and we’re in talks with Alexandra Breckenridge from AMERICAN HORROR STORY.”

Elias also provided the synopsis for DARK, which is set during the New York City blackout of 2003: “Kate, a struggling 30something model with a troubled past, has just moved into her girlfriend Leah’s Brooklyn loft, but already, doubts about their relationship have begun to loom. When Leah leaves for the weekend, Kate unexpectedly finds herself alone in the apartment in the midst of the worst blackout in North American history. As darkness falls over the city, Kate’s paranoia grows and she begins to believe someone in the building is stalking her. With no one to help her and escape out of reach, Kate is forced to confront her deepest fears as she fights to survive through the night.” We’ll keep you posted on this one!
