One of Britain’s top makeup FX artists is now shooting his
feature directorial debut, and has a couple of UK genre veterans in his cast.
Screen Daily reports that production has commenced on the psychological horror film THE SEASONING HOUSE, which Paul Hyett is directing from a script he wrote with Conal Palmer. The cast includes DOG SOLDIERS and MUTANT CHRONICLES’ Sean Pertwee, Nathalie Cox, HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY’s Anna Walton, THE LAST HORROR MOVIE and SUMMER SCARS’ Kevin Howarth, Adrian Bouchet, Katie Allen and Rosie Day. The title refers to a house where girls are prostituted to the military, and an enslaved deaf-mute orphan who cares for them plots to escape and wreak revenge on their captors. Hyett’s many makeup FX credits include I, ZOMBIE: THE CHRONICLES OF PAIN, THE DESCENT and its sequel, WILDERNESS, THE COTTAGE, DOOMSDAY, EDEN LAKE, THE CHILDREN, ATTACK THE BLOCK and this week’s THE WOMAN IN BLACK. THE SEASONING HOUSE’s official website (just a couple of simple pages at the moment) can be found here.
