Bryan Bertino, who we haven't heard from since 2008's excellent THE STRANGERS, is finally back.
Last year, it was reported that Bertino was working on a found footage script with the working title MOCKINGBIRD, but wasn't attached to helm. Shock Till You Drop confirmed this weekend that the filmmaker will indeed direct the tale of "a couple who receive a video camera with a document of strict instructions. If they don't follow the rules, they're told someone will die. The film will follow their hellish ordeal as they do what they are told."
Bertino's style and assurance is part of what made THE STRANGERS so memorable, so we're definitely curious to see what he'll bring to the genre's current most loved aesthetic. Jason Blum (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, INSIDIOUS) is producing, with a February start date expected for production.
