Horror in both a deadly serious and humorous vein is
showcased in a series of titles coming from Camp Motion Pictures, Shock-O-Rama
Cinema and Bloody Earth Films in 2012. We got the scoop on a bunch of their
movies coming to DVD and digital markets, plus the first look at a couple of
covers and the final specs for the previously announced TRIPPIN’.
Camp’s two-DVD set for TRIPPIN’ and the short films of director Devi Snively arrives April 10. The feature, a comic take on cabin-in-the-woods slaughter flicks with plenty of sex, drugs and gore, will be presented in 16x9-enhanced widescreen and 5.1 stereo on the first disc, accompanied by “High Hopes: TRIPPIN’ Behind-the-Scenes” and “Welcome to Deviant Pictures” featurettes. The second disc will include the following Snively shorts: TEENAGE BIKINI VAMPIRE, CONFEDERATE ZOMBIE MASSACRE, RAVEN GETS A LIFE, DEATH IN CHARGE, MEAT IS MURDER, I SPIT ON ELI ROTH and LAST SEEN ON DOLORES STREET. There will be theatrical screenings in advance of the disc, so stay tuned for more info on those; Snively discusses TRIPPIN’ with us here.

On July 17, Camp issues DOCUMENTING THE GREY MAN (pictured at top), a found-footage frightfest from director Wayne Capps. This one is about a group of actors who fake a ghost-hunting expedition to a South Carolina plantation, in order to expose reports of a haunting as hysteria, but of course find that it’s all too real. The DVD will present the movie in 16x9-enhanced widescreen with 2.0 stereo, a making-of featurette and a trailer vault.
Coming August 14 from Shock-O-Rama is director/co-writer Channing Lowe’s GROUND ZERO, in which two professional “cleaners” hired to dispose of a corpse take it to a warehouse where they encounter more stiffs—one of which isn’t quite dead. September 11 sees the release via Bloody Earth Films of COME AND GET ME, writer/director Chris Sun’s slasher saga in which four girlfriends are terrorized by a trio of serial killers in the Australian hinterlands; go here for a story on that film. And ATOMIC BRAIN INVASION, Richard Griffin’s homage to ’50s alien-attack films (see item here) will land October 2 from Camp. Covers and details on these last three are coming soon; retail price for all the discs covered here will be $19.98 each. Check out the official website for these labels here.
