The fairly mysterious and apparently awesome CABIN IN THE WOODS gets a fitting, and excellent teaser poster.
Ain't It Cool debuted the one-sheet for the horror film directed by Drew Goddard and co-written by Goddard and BUFFY creator Joss Whedon that throughout all its woes heading to the screen, has managed to maintain a real air of secrecy on just why it's so damn good/unique/exciting. When asked for a synopsis by the website, Lionsgate apparently provided this:
"Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, a mind blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out. Produced by Whedon and directed by Goddard from a script by both, the film stars Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams, Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford."
The poster is a really great visual representation of this idea that CABIN IN THE WOODS is not your typical entry in the titular subgenre. I think it's safe to say we're really, really looking forward to this one. Lionsgate releases the film April 13, 2012.
