Filmmaking brothers Howard J. and Jonathan Ford went through hell in Africa to bring their zombie epic THE DEAD to the screen, and won much acclaim for it. Now the movie has a date for disc, where fans will learn more about how it was made.

Anchor Bay Entertainment unleashes THE DEAD on DVD and Blu-ray February 14. Shot on assorted African landscapes with many locals used as living and dead extras, the movie follows stranded Army engineer Brian Murphy (Rob Freeman) and local soldier Daniel Dembele (Prince David Osei) as they battle the relentless ghouls who have taken over the land. Presented in anamorphic 1.78:1 widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound on the DVD and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound on the Blu-ray, the movie will be accompanied by:

• Audio commentary by writer/producer/director Howard J. Ford and writer/director of photography/co-director Jonathan Ford

• “Unearthing THE DEAD: Behind the Scenes” featurette

• Deleted scene
