As the found footage aesthetic keeps chugging, it's given some new work to a director we haven't seen nearly enough from.
Deadline reports that Universal has acquired a new verite-styled spec script from THE STRANGERS writer-director Bryan Bertino. No word on actual plot, although the project was at one point being referred to as MOCKINGBIRD. Naturally, Jason Blum, one of horror's busiest producers, is doing just that.
Sadly, it seems Bertino isn't attached or planning to direct, something I'd really love to see him do on anything at this point.
