It looks like cable TV’s favorite serial killer will have a
lot more cutting up to do, thanks to a deal that was just announced.
Variety reports that Showtime has renewed
its hit series DEXTER for not one but two seasons, which will be its seventh
and eighth. The network was able to make that commitment thanks to a new
contract it signed with star Michael C. Hall, who also serves as an executive
producer on the series. Each of those seasons will consist of 12 episodes each,
with premiere dates to be announced. The current sixth season of DEXTER debuts
its episodes Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT; see the official website for more.
