Mark Hartley, of NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD and MACHETE MAIDENS UNLEASHED! fame, is getting the ball rolling on his remake of telekinetic ozploitation horror PATRICK. 

Twitch is reporting that Sharni Vinson (who will take you by storm in next year's YOU'RE NEXT) has signed on to star in the redux. PATRICK tells of a young man who, despite laying catatonic in a hospital, is able to tap into psychic abilities. Vinson will take on the role of the nurse assigned to the titular character. The site also notes that both Rachel Griffiths and Richard E. Grant have also joined, playing senior hospital employees.
