Canadian smut peddlers Vagrancy Films are unspooling two
35mm counterculture fleapit gems this weekend at the Toronto Underground
Cinema. The fun goes down this Saturday, November 5.
First up is the uproarious GONE WITH THE POPE at 9:30 p.m.. This knockout mafia comedy-trash meltdown is filled with every sort of silly debauchery known to man, and also happens to be a kick-ass action flick to boot. Then at 11:15, stick around for a glorious, pristine uncut print of Lucio Fulci’s master class in weird horror THE HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY (pictured), Fulci’s last great early-’80s masterpiece rife with bloodthirsty bats, a basement-dwelling, kid-killing zombie doctor and, of course, the lovely Catriona MacColl.
