RARE EXPORTS: A CHRISTMAS TALE may be a holiday-themed
movie, but it sure ain’t kid-friendly. And neither is the exclusive making-of
clip from the supplements of the DVD and Blu-ray we have to show you. Click
past the jump to see the not-safe-for-work-or-children segment!
RARE EXPORTS, written and directed by Jalmari Helander, is set in a small town in the snowy mountains of Finland, where an excavation team unearths the mythical figure that inspired the legends of Santa Claus—but he ain’t jolly, and neither are the aged “elves” who serve him and are the focus of the clip. Oscilloscope Laboratories releases the movie on DVD and in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack tomorrow, October 25, with widescreen transfers and 5.1 Surround soundtracks, plus the following extras:
• Helander’s two original RARE EXPORTS short films
• "The Making of RARE EXPORTS: A CHRISTMAS TALE"
• "Blood in the Snow": a look at the concept art
• Animatics and computer FX video comparison
• Behind-the-scenes photo gallery
• Original Finnish theatrical trailer
In addition, the Blu-ray exclusively includes another out-there Christmas flick, the camp classic SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS. See our review of RARE EXPORTS here.
