Actress Beverly Bonner (pictured) co-starred in Frank Henenlotter’s
cult classic BASKET CASE three decades ago, and the experience has stayed with
her ever since. Next month, she’s resurrecting her role in the Manhattan stage
presentation CASEY—30 YEARS LATER, debuting with a multimedia event that
includes a screening of the original movie.
CASEY—30 YEARS LATER’s premiere takes place Thursday, November 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Broadway Comedy Club (318 West 53rd Street). The show, which finds Bonner’s Casey character running an old-age home for retired hookers (who are actually anything but retired) and being interviewed by a college-age fan, will be preceded by opening acts and a showing of BASKET CASE, and followed by a Q&A with Bonner (who also appeared in Henenlotter’s BRAIN DAMAGE, FRANKENHOOKER and BAD BIOLOGY) and her co-stars, who include Michael Varrati, Joan Phillips, Joshua Emerick (who does the BASKET CASE comic strips that appear in Fango’s pages), Fred Terling (who serves as host for the night as Barnabus Bailey from The Greatest Show Unearthed) and a surprise mystery guest. Tickets are $20 in advance via SmartTix.com or $30 at the door, and there’s a two-drink minimum. Check out Bonner’s website here.
