If you enjoy genre fare in a dark-humored vein, the Friars Club Comedy Film Festival in New York City this week has a few gems on its schedule, including Jack Perez’s SOME GUY WHO KILLS PEOPLE (pictured). Read on for the details, and info on how you can win free tickets.

The festival, running Wednesday-Sunday, October 12-16 at assorted Manhattan venues, will screen SOME GUY Saturday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at The Core Club (66 East 55th Street). Kevin Corrigan stars in the title role, a troubled young man who tries to put his life back together while slaughtering past tormentors (see review here). Also on the 15th, at 1:30 p.m. at The Pit (123 East 24th Street), is THE MOLE MAN OF BELMONT AVENUE, a comic creature feature by John LaFlamboy and Mike Bradecich co-starring Robert Englund (review here). And on Sunday, Oct. 16, Emily Lou’s haunted-real-estate opus THE SELLING (see feature story here) shows at the Clearview Cinemas (260 West 23rd Street) at 1:30 p.m., accompanied by David Sidorov’s slasher short DIE SCHOOL REUNION. And we’re giving away 10 pairs of tickets to all three!
