As a chill in the air descends on the Northeast and the best time of year truly kicks in, come ring in the macabre tonight at TOLD, the monthly storytelling series in NYC's East Village. This evening sees a "Dark and Stormy Night," and a special guest from FANGORIA will be on hand to guide you through.

Hosted by Seth Lind, TOLD aims to continue the oldest of traditions and this month's piece moves directly into Fango territory with an emphasis on the unsettling. Four guests will present true-life tales of their own terror as FANGORIA's Samuel Zimmerman performs horror-centric interludes throughout; a special audio appearance from HUMAN CENTIPEDE star Ashley C. Williams just may pop in as well. Here's what to expect:

JIJI LEE (Real Characters) on scary folk tales told by her parents.

REISS GASPARD (Ground Up and Rising) on a Hurricane that actually was.

KERRI DOHERTY (Risk!) on a very specific type of scary train ride.

and JEFF SIMMERMON (This American Life, The Moth) on being the victim and perpetrator of childhood terror.

The fun gets underway at 7 p.m. at Under St. Mark's Theatre (94 St. Mark's Place). You can pick up advanced tickets here (or just throw down $5 at the door), and check the Facebook event here. Come out!
