After world-premiering at the current Toronto International Film Festival, the buzz-building Cuban zombie comedy JUAN OF THE DEAD (JUAN DE LOS MUERTOS) has landed a deal that will bring its undead plague to the U.S.

Variety reports that Cinetic Media has made a deal for Stateside as well as Canadian rights to the movie, which we previously reported on here. Written and directed by Alejandro Brugués, it stars Alexis Díaz de Villegas as the slacker title character, who responds to the growing ghoul violence in Havana by offering his services as a zombie killer, but soon becomes preoccupied with saving his own skin.
