Lucky McKee has always been a provocative director, starting
with his debut feature MAY, and has delivered his most shocking movie yet with
THE WOMAN. A new trailer has emerged for the film’s theatrical debut this fall,
and you can see it and the poster after the jump.
The Collective releases THE WOMAN October 14 in select theaters. A Modernciné production loosely following up its previous feature OFFSPRING, the movie was scripted by Jack Ketchum and McKee and produced by Andrew van den Houten and Robert Tonino. Pollyanna MacIntosh (reprising her OFFSPRING role), Sean Bridgers and McKee regular Angela Bettis star in this story of a savage woman, the last survivor of a cannibal clan, who is captured and imprisoned by a local lawyer, who attempts to “civilize” her in brutal ways with the help of his family. The film scandalized certain viewers at certain festival gigs earlier this year, including one particular gentleman whose reaction can be seen here. Check out THE WOMAN’s official website here.
