This October, Turner Classic Movies will air A NIGHT AT THE MOVIES: THE HORRORS OF STEPHEN KING, in which the author will talk about the fright flicks that have scared and influenced him the most.

Shock Till You Drop reports that the new doc will be produced by DreamWorks Television and Laurent Bouzereau, who has been involved in a number of featurettes for King-themed special edition DVD releases.

Premiering on Monday, October 3, at 8 p.m. (ET), King takes viewers on a journey through the horror genre, including vampires, zombies, demons and ghosts. He also examines the reasons behind moviegoers’ desire to be shocked and scared, as well as comments on the movies that have impacted his writing, including FREAKS, CAT PEOPLE (1942), NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968), THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE (1974), JAWS, HALLOWEEN (1978) and many more.

A NIGHT AT THE MOVIES: THE HORRORS OF STEPHEN KING will commence an entire month of classic horror on TCM, with each Monday night’s lineup featuring a number of fright favorites.
