Every horror series has its signature, and for the FINAL DESTINATION franchise it is all about the art of the opening sequence...

Despite the fact that the four FINAL films to date have been in only two pairs of hands (director James Wong on the first and third films, David R. Ellis on the second and fourth), each new chapter in the Death-defying saga seemed to try and outdo the previous entry’s initial setpiece. The result: the FINAL films have set the bar for how to properly, shockingly greet your audience. Now, with the release of FINAL DESTINATION 5, opening this Friday, August 12, director Steven Quale has the unenviable task of one-upping what have come to be considered among the most memorable film intros in horror history.
