Having made his directorial debut with last year’s UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS, FX/creature creator Patrick Tatopoulos (pictured) has since been attached to helm DreamWorks’ aliens-on-an-airplane actioner NON-STOP and the comics adaptation I, FRANKENSTEIN. Now he has boarded another genre feature, SUSPENSION.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, SUSPENSION was scripted by Scott Milam, who also penned the upcoming MOTHER’S DAY remake, and will be produced independently by Daniel Alter and Adrian Askarieh. The story tells of a rescue crew forced to land their helicopter on an old suspension bridge in the German Alps during a raging forest fire. As if being stranded this way isn’t bad enough, the group’s situation gets worse when strange and deadly creatures arrive. Tatopoulos plans to create a new and unique species of monster for the movie, which also has Milam and I, FRANKENSTEIN’s Robert Sanchez involved as producers. Alter and Askarieh have been involved with numerous comics- and video game-based features, including HITMAN and the upcoming HACK/SLASH, LOST SQUAD and KANE & LYNCH; Alter’s also on Dark Castle and Warner Bros.’ impending supernatural flick THE APPARITION.
