The undead have invaded classic literature and cable
television in recent years, and now they’re set to attack the world’s biggest
sporting event in an untitled feature set to shoot in Wales.
Screen Daily reports that the movie, set during the 2012 Olympic Games, will roll in September, with plot details currently being kept secret. The project is a co-production between Severn Screen (formerly Garage Light Films) and Warp Films, with backing from the Film Agency for Wales and British distributor Revolver. Newcomer Chris Boyle will direct, and Strange Village, a group including two members of the Super Furry Animals, will provide the music. “This is the first project in a proposed collaboration between ourselves and critically acclaimed Warp Films,” producer Kate Crowther, whose credits include SUBMARINE, tells the trade. “As a newly established company, an alliance such as this gives us greater visibility in the international market, as well as allowing us to expand the talent base we are working with. By backing a project such as this, the Film Agency for Wales are supporting our ambition to work with exciting new talents such as Chris Boyle, whilst remaining in, and working from Wales.”
