If you find yourself in South Africa this August, be sure to check out the X Fest, Cape Town's cult film festival devoted entirely to extreme, underground cinema.

The full schedule is set for release later this week, but the star of the line up has been revealed. X Fest will see the South African premiere of Harmony Korine’s TRASH HUMPERS, which follows a group of demented, elderly people in Tennessee, paired with alongside Korine's short UMSHINI WAM.

Several other international picks are on deck including AHONG from Spain and China, the world premiere of a South African film, MARKED, the Irish IN THE NIGHT, IN THE DARK, VISION from the UK, JORNADA DEL MUERTE (South Africa), the Spanish ADDICTIONS and SWEET BLOOD, BUNNY THE KILLER THING (Finland), and even a US title - EYES BEYOND.

Also featured is Bill Zebub’s DOLLA MORTE, a satanically silly riff on TEAM AMERICA, anthropologist Poke Runyon’s THE MAGICK OF SOLOMON, which investigates practices of ritual magic, and Abel Ferrara’s 1979 trash classic, DRILLER KILLER. There are some other great titles on the roster, like the UK film THE HOUSE OF SIN, THE TAINT, and THE ELECTRIC CHAIR, a “lost” New York film starring TAXI DRIVER’s Victor Argo.

Held at Cape Town’s Labia Theater (68 Orange Street), the festival is over 18 only. There will be audience DVD give-aways and, if that wasn’t enough, piercing vouchers. The X Fest will be held from August 5 - 7.
