The superior African-shot zombie opus THE DEAD is getting
closer to invading theaters in both the UK and the U.S., and a new poster
promoting its release in the former country has emerged, along with details of
that release.
Written and directed by brothers Howard J. Ford and Jonathan Ford and shot on remote locations in Burkina Faso and Ghana, West Africa, THE DEAD follows Air Force engineer Lt. Brian Murphy (Rob Freeman) as he survives a plane crash only to be thrown into an even more horrific situation, traversing a country overrun by the living dead. Seeking his missing son, he joins local military man Sgt. Daniel Dembele (Prince David Oseia) in a struggle to survive. THE DEAD will open across Britain September 2, followed by American theatrical engagements in October. Prior to its general UK run, the movie will be screened at a special event on Saturday, August 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Empire Leicester Square as part of London’s Film4 FrightFest, where the Ford Brothers will provide a live commentary explaining the extraordinary and often dangerous circumstances under which the film was made.
