Those shadowy hands seem to find Sally in every corner.
Posted by IMP Awards (and caught by STYD), the new Polish poster for Troy Nixey's upcoming DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK is another variation of those eerie hands coming for young Sally (Bailee Madison). While not quite the coolest (that would belong to the UK version), the poster is yet another suitably atmospheric piece of marketing for the very atmospheric film.
This update of the 1973 TV-movie of the same name was co-written and produced by Guillermo del Toro and sees a small girl enthralled with the tiny, very evil creatures that reside in her new home. DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK hits August 26. Check out FANGORIA's advanced review right here. Look for exclusive talks with Nixey and del Toro in FANGORIA #306 (on sale in August).
P.S. Poland has a history of truly awesome poster art. Below the DON'T BE AFRAID are two of my favorites: Andrzej Klimowski's THE OMEN piece and Andrzej Dudzinski's JAWS.
