Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to Image’s vampire
comic book mini-series UNDYING LOVE.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen L’Heureux and Benderspink, run by Chris Bender and J.C. Spink, are producing the project, which is based on the comic created by Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman (who will be penning the script). UNDYING LOVE is equal parts vampire mythology and Chinese folklore, set in modern day Hong Kong. Ex-soldier John Sargent falls for a beautiful Chinese woman named Mei, but there’s one thing keeping the lovers apart: Mei is a vampire. In order to free Mei from the curse, Sargent must destroy the bloodsucker that made her. There’s a catch, though: Mei was turned by one of the most powerful vampires in history.
